Je-Neir "Change Wars" net $2,400 to go Toward a New Playground

Je-Neir PTO Works For a New Playground

The Je-Neir Elementary PTO has been working- and they have a new playground in their sights.  Sue Sherwood, PTO Treasurer, made a presentation to the school board recently about the possibility of a new playground at the elementary school.  "Many of the items have become worn out, and we have been working for over a year now looking at getting a new playground there," said Sherwood.  Designs for the new equipment were on display at the meeting, which featured several pieces of equipment and a safe, clean appearance.  The PTO has been socking away funds for quite awhile now, and is continuing that effort through a variety of fundraising events.  The most recent,"Change Wars", was a great success as $2,400 was raised in all.

Playground Penny Pinching

One family, who's son is a second grader at Je-Neir, had their young man bring in a "sand bucket" full of change, which he described as his "life's savings".  When giving it to his teacher he told her," I want to donate it so that my little brother can have a nice playground."  Let that statement soak in for a moment, and it becomes easy to see that this is important to our school and their families.  Sue Sherwood put it another way- "We've got some amazing families!".  We couldn't agree more Sue.
