Graduation Information and Links - Class of 2021

Good Afternoon MCHS Seniors and Families,

(Spanish version of this page - Versión en español)

Congratulations to our Class of 2021 graduates and families for all of your hard work over the past four years. This past year and a half, in particular, carries even more weight with me due to the challenges presented to our Seniors/Families during Full Remote, Hybrid, In-Person, Technology, Internet Connectivity, quarantines, half days, masks, social distancing, etc. during the COVID Pandemic.

Graduation Information:

Before we break down Graduation, we would like your help to encourage your Senior(s) to complete the following four (4) items.  The first item is optional for Seniors wanting to design their caps.  They need to submit their ideas via the link provided.  Number 2 and 3 below will allow us to celebrate your Senior to the fullest.  We are creating a Senior Slide Show (Example: Class of 2020) that will be publicized online. Seniors will have to log into their Google Accounts through the school to complete them – if you want to PLEASE help them complete these tasks. (All of the links are down below as well.)  The final item is an Exit Survey so we can collect feedback about our Seniors to improve what we do and to better support our Seniors as they move on into their Post-secondary careers.

1. Cap Design - if you so choose to submit one for approval

2. Senior Pictures - need 3 if you can!  Thank you! (Goes on your Senior Slide)

3. Senior Slide Survey Thank you! (Goes on your Senior Slide)

1. General Information: (Masks must be worn.  Please maintain social distancing.)

  • Graduation is on May 14, 2021 @ 7pm
  • Seniors need to be in the JH school by 6:30pm if they want to be a part of the 2021 graduation ceremony.
  • Seniors - Please arrive no later than 6-6:15pm. (6:00pm preferred) – This will allot time to park their car on the track (weather permitting) for the “Final Countdown” portion of the ceremony.  (See below for more information.)
  • Graduation will take place in the JH gymnasium - 4 tickets per Graduate.  (Mrs. Wood will hand these out at a later date.)
  • We will follow up graduation with a "Final Countdown" at the football field afterward. (Weather Permitting) - We will notify you in advance - TBD.
    • The "Final Countdown" will start at 8pm sharp.  The clock will run continuously counting down to "00:00" and the buzzer sounds at 8:30pm.  It will start whether we are out of the ceremony/gymnasium or not.
    • The clock will countdown - rain or shine.
    • If the weather is acceptable, there are two options for students and families being on the track/football field:
      • Option #1: If the weather is acceptable and the ground is dry enough to drive on it, then students will drive onto the track and park their cars in a circle on the track PRIOR to 6:30pm.
      • Option #2: If the weather is acceptable but the ground is saturated, then everyone can come onto the track to set spots, but NO cars will be allowed.
        • Either way, the timer will start at 8pm and end at 8:30pm.  This will signify the end of the 2021 school year for our seniors.
        • Once again, your family members are welcome to join you on the track at/in your "cars/spot on the track" upon the completion of the ceremony.
        • Seniors will be asked to go to the center of the football field to throw caps (last minute before the final buzzer.)
        • Students/families will begin to exit the track.
        • Commencement is now complete.
    • If the weather is poor, then we will still celebrate our seniors without anyone on the track or football field.  (Weather Permitting once again - if it is extremely poor- this portion will be canceled.)
      • The timer will still start counting down at 8pm and will reach "ZERO" at 8:30pm.
      • Students can sit in cars along fences and honk/celebrate as the finale approaches..."00:00."
      • Your family members who could not attend the live ceremony are welcome to join you on the track at/in your "cars/spot on the track" upon the completion of the ceremony.
      • We will start the clock on the scoreboard at 8pm and begin the countdown to the final CAP TOSS on the field at 8:30pm.
    •  All graduation guidelines are attached below.  Please read!
