MCUSD#1 Safe Return Plan 2021-2022

Dear Parents,

The Momence CUSD#1 Board of Education approved a Safe Return Plan for the upcoming school year which can be viewed by clicking on the link below.  Please understand that this plan was approved by the Board of Education on Monday, August 23, 2021 in accordance with Executive Order 18 issued on August 4, 2021, as well as local metrics and conditions at that particular time.  Changes in these metrics or the conditions, as well as any new guidance by the CDC, IDPH, or ISBE, as well as any new mandates which may be issued by these agencies, may result in additional revisions.

Here is a quick summary of major changes:

  1. Remote Learning is no longer an Option in the plan (because it is no longer an option for schools per ISBE)
  2. ISBE Declaration: “Beginning with the 2021-22 school year, all schools must resume fully in-person learning for all student attendance days, provided that, pursuant to 105 ILCS 5/10-30 and 105 ILCS 5/34-18.66, remote instruction be made available for students who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, and only while they are under quarantine order consistent with guidance or requirements from a local public health department or the Illinois Department of Public Health”.
  3. Face Masks are required in all schools and on busses in accordance with Executive Order 18, issued on August 4, 2021.
  4. CDC Guidance REQUIRES (Order under Section 361 of the PHSA-2/1/2021) that all individuals on buses wear a face mask at all times.
