Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Miss Silva and I am honored to partner together with you this year as your child's teacher. You are your child's first and greatest teacher. As we partner together in your child's education; we will be planting seeds of which there is no limit to the height of the tree of knowledge that will grow, and to the depth of the roots that will be planted within your child.
I was born and raised in the Alsip/Oak Forest area of Cook County. San Diego, California was where I went to college and received both my Bachelors of Elementary Education and my Master in Administration. Presently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Ethical Leadership from Olivet. I lived in San Diego for a little over 26 years before moving back to my home state! I love Pooh Bear, quilting, sewing, reading, traveling, estate sales, and fairs!
I have been teaching for over 18 years. I began with homeschooling my own 2 children through 2nd grade. Then I moved to a Charter School where I taught 4th grade, Middle School Algebra, Technology, Character Education, and Math/Language Intervention. I taught for 2 years Language Arts at our Junior High, and this is my 4th year in 4th grade at Je-Neir. I have a beautiful daughter and a super smart son. Both are pursuing their passions in life.
